AWAY WE GO ! (deel 1) (Toppyjazz 229)

Onder de titel AWAY WE GO! gaan we een paar maal per jaar dwars door jazz en popland.

 Aanleiding was de indrukwekkende BEAR FAMILY box over Rick Nelson. Niet alleen pop, maar ook een aantal opnamen die Rick Nelson maakte voor jazz label Verve Records.

 U hoort hem een paar maal samen met gitarist BARNEY KESSEL.

 Ook hoort u de Noorse zangeres Kari Bremnes en het Lew Tabackin Quartet met Jazz at the Prague Castle.

 Tot slot onze grap: uit het boek De lachende politieman met in de hoofdrol Martin Beck, laten we u het kado horen, dat hij van vrouw en dochter kreeg.

Bij het begin van de lente weer een lading nieuw verschenen (her)uitgaven.

 Wij beginnen met de Engelse zangeres ANITA WARDELL.

 Ze maakte een uitstekend album NOTED.

 Als tweede onze Toppyjazz pianist ANDRÉ PREVIN en violiste ANNE-SOPHIE MUTTER.

 Hun album TANGO SONG and DANCE is grote klasse). 

 In 2011 nam CLAUDIO RIGGIO in Rome de cd AUDREY op met als gast TOM HARRELL.

 Uit Frankrijk komt de sopraan PATRICIA PETITBON.
