Due to family reasons we have to stop Toppyjazz for some weeks.

 A great friend of us died, so we take a break.

We got a box with 14 volumes from The Blue Note Years 1939-1998.
This week you got a highlight from those recordings.
Blue Note started in 1939 with two Germans : Alfred Lion & Max Margulis.
The first takes were made in the livingroom of the Dutch parents of Rudy van Gelder!

Vive La France (part 10) (Toppyjazz 530)

Like last year we have in July our own musically Tour de France on Radio Westerwolde .
 The whole month we have only music from France.
 First we take attention to Dutch singer DAVE (Wouter Levenbach) who lives for 50 years in Paris and is one of the major French singers.
 Second we have some music of Michel Legrand.
But the great part is the Polygram Master series part 6-10.

Jazz from Germany (Toppyjazz 529)

Toppyjazz is back from a two week tour through Germany.
We visited Hann. Münden and Colditz.
Nice to see so much Britains visiting the Colditz Castle!

On this first program from Summer 2018 we have a very fine selected group of German musicians.
First Ida Landsberg (Berlin, 1960) singer, piano and songwriter.
Back with us the NDR Big Band with Colin Towns.
Adi Braun (Toronto,1962) is fond of the songs from the Weimar Republic. She made an excellent cd Moderne Frau.
We love the reissue from Die Dreigroschenoper 1958 from Lotte Lenya and Louis Armstrong.
From Heidelberg comes Duo Lagerfeld with the album Verstimmt. Duo Lagerfeld is Stefan Lindenau bass, voice and David Joepgen, guitar, voice. Great album!
We close with 2 albums from Thomas Stabenow .

LISA is back in town! (Toppyjazz 528)

Some very good news this week. We're permitted to use all new cd's from Music Promotion Net from now on. That's the music site for the German Radio Stations.

Lisa Hilton made a very fine cd Escapism. Highly recommanded! That's 4 stars from Toppyjazz!
Toyppyjazz will be on a summertour through Europe this year. Escapism will be in our Caravan!
